More Information: Pass Plus

Iain is a pass plus registered instructor.

Pass Plus is a course which is completed after the student has successfuly passed the practical driving test. The minimum requirement for this course is six hours of additional training covering areas which may not have been experienced during training leading up to the practical test.

Iain offers a two day course which is well inexcess of the minimum requirement.

The first session involves driving on country roads with which the student will be unfamiliar. Also included will be a period in heavier traffic, Aberdeen or Dundee city centre will usualy provide a suitably challanging environment. We will also cover driving in adverse weather, rain, fog and snow. This will most probably take the form of a tutorial depending on weather conditions on the day.

The second session involves a long drive. We will experience prolonged periods at higher speeds on both dual carriageway and motorway. We will leave the motorway on occasion and readjust to urban driving. We will experience multi lane motorway driving through Glasgow on the M8 with the return journey being completed during darkness if necessary.

There is no further driving test involved. Iain will send the necessary documentation to the DSA for them to issue the Pass Plus certificate on completion of the course.

Some insurance companies give substantial discounts for new drivers who have completed the Pass Plus course.
